...Harrogate House!
Harrogate House
Sadly, it is sometimes the case that the orphaned child has no family support system remaining, so is unable to return to its community. These children remain in a separate unit at Open Arms called Harrogate House. Named after Harrogate, North Yorkshire that raised the capital to build it.

Equally sad, is the occasion when a child has to be re-introduced to the Home after an unsuccessful return to the home community. Reasons might be neglect, further death in the family, or just simply lack of resources to keep an extra child going. These cases also return to Harrogate House.

After readmission the child would typically spend two or three years as one of the 12 occupants of the House. Harrogate House has its own House Parents and staff and is run as a separate entity. Whilst here the children commence their early education with our qualified Teacher. This is called our Phase 2 operation.
