Open Arms is a registered charity in both England and Wales, Malawi and the United States and is administered by two separate trusts.
The Board of Trustees in Malawi oversee the administration of the home.
The Open Arms Trust in the UK (Open Arms Malawi) was initially set up in June 2000, when a number of people who knew Neville and Rosemarie Bevis decided they wanted to support them and the work they were doing.
Rosemarie died on September 12th 2006 after a brave battle with ovarian cancer
A committee was established with a Board of Trustees, and Open Arms, Malawi was registered as an independent charity with the Charities Commission of England and Wales in February 2002
( registered charity number 1090655) .
The main aim of the charity is to raise funds for specific projects. It does not currently contribute to running costs of Open Arms Infant Home: funding for these costs are generated separately.
