Enrich Youth Project Visit

Open Arms welcomes many visiting groups over the course of the year from School expeditions to medical students learning about challenges facing orphaned infants. We are delighted to have the chance to show our visitors to the work we do in Malawi and introduce them to the children of Open Arms.

Two years ago we were approached by a project who support youth in Bath and were planning an expedition to Malawi. They didn’t want to come to Malawi to “Save the World” but rather to gain new perspectives and see what they could learn from Malawi. They learnt a great deal, and couldn’t wait to bring a second group.

Young people and leaders from the Enrich Youth Project are in Malawi for the second time, and after receiving a full introduction from our Director, Neville, about what we do and why we exist shared gifts that they had bought for the children and enjoyed playing with the children at Harrogate house blowing bubbles!

They then visited the Foster Houses to meet the older children and see a lesson in full swing at our computer lab. It was interesting to hear the varied reactions from the group.

We have really enjoyed conntributing to their time in Malawi and look forward to their next visit!
