    For the home, trekking trousers or shorts with T shirts and tops (Be prepared to be covered in porridge!!!)
    Long skirts or trousers if necessary for any excursions, but not essential.
    Waterproofs and/or umbrella for rainy season.
    Sensible shoes (trainers or walking shoes) and sandals/flip flops
    Sun cream
    Insect repellant
    Malaria tablets as per guidelines.
    Swimming costume as daily access is available for a small fee at the local “up market” Hotel Soche in Blantyre – towel provided
    Towel
    Torch – this is an essential item due to frequent power outages.
    Anti-bacterial hand gel.FM radio if you’re interested in the BBC World Service
    Sometimes there is a shortage of water for consecutive days so toiletries to suit are useful
    Toiletries are available to buy in Blantrye but they are expensive so bring enough to last the duration of your stay.
    Sleeping bags if you intend to climb Mount Mulanje.
