Walking 40 Miles & Fundraising for Open Arms Malawi

This weekend 5 members of staff from Ashville college will be taking on the challenge of walking 40 miles from West to East to cross the North YorkGroup of Fundraisers for Malawi Moors in under 24 hours!

Ian Gould, Dave Grainger, Steph Watson, Sally Ward, Jane Ellis, and supported by Tom Hanna, also Sue Parker and Melanie Guy-McCabe.

The team are fundraising for the 2013 Ashville expedition to Open Arms, where 19 students will spend 3 weeks in Malawi, helping to renovate a new feeding station, paint a school and spending time with the children at Open Arms.

Ashville Students at Open Arms MalawiThe link between Ashville college in Harrogate began in 2000 when Neville and Rosemarie Bevis gave up working at the school to take over the running of Open Arms.

Since then Ashville have remained good friends with Open Arms – this expedition will be the bi – annual trip to Malawi, and in total the school community have raised over £65,000!! Also replicating the 1st ever Ashville sponsored walk.
