Read on to find out more…
Taking place from 25th September through to 4th October 2020, our charity bike ride promises to offer you the ultimate breath-taking experience.
Showing you exactly what Malawi has to offer, this is more than your average bike ride.
Experiencing life off the beaten track cycling through beautiful landscapes, you'll see first-hand how the money you raise makes a world of difference to the children in Malawi.
This challenging event is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and one that you’re sure never to forget.
We won’t lie. The challenge is by no means an easy one. With long cycling days and some hill-climbing, you’ll need a good level of fitness, some pre-training and lots of determination!
However, even if you’re a novice cyclist, this is all still achievable, and the team at Open Arms is with you every step of the way.
The magic of Malawi
2020 could be your year to do something different. To push yourself further than ever before. To make a true difference to the lives of others.
As part of your cycling journey you’ll be able to see the wilderness of Malawi, take part in a sunrise boat safari, visit the old colonial city of Zomba, cycle through old market towns, visit our infant homes, and so much more.
This is your time to do something truly amazing.
Challenging but achievable
As soon as you sign up, you become part of the team — part of the family.
Supporting you from the word go, Open Arms and our challenge Partners, Classic Challenges, help to get you through the 375 kilometres (from Mua Mission to Blantyre), providing you with your challenge pack, training plans, fundraising ideas, travel information, and so much more, we help to kick start your adventure from the moment you register your place.
What to expect
We like to keep some air of excitement, so we'll leave the really good parts for you to read in your challenge pack. However, Cycle Malawi sees you cycling through villages, markets and visiting some of the most breath-taking sandy beaches around.
We’re passionate about Malawi and everything it has to offer, so we’ve made sure to make time for you to visit the spectacular Liwonde National Park. With its hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and antelopes, all making an appearance as they wander the floodplains.
And the best part…
You get to visit our Open Arms infant homes. Celebrating your achievements with the house mothers and children themselves and seeing first-hand what your work is supporting.
Crossing the finish line in an overwhelming wave of emotions, as you’re greeted, thanked, and cheered on with excitement by our team.
Everything you see at our infant homes and nurseries is all possible because of your generosity and support.
If this sounds of interest, then strap on your helmet, grab your bike and secure your cycling spot now by emailing us.
