The gift of supporting children in Malawi
Our Christmas gift catalogue has been revamped to bring you our most popular gifts. These make an ideal and meaningful Christmas gift for the person who has it all.
We have a new card to deliver your Gifts that do Good, featuring Tamala’s wonderful smile and story. The card speaks for the care, shelter and love given to every child at Open Arms Malawi and really shows the difference your donation will make to the lives of children.
Your gift will be presented in our new gift card, with a picture and description of what the gift will pay for in Malawi. There are special gifts you can choose from to make a difference in our homes with Baby Milk and the Best Start in Life, or in the communities with Village Essentials.
A special Christmas treat
We all love the surprise of opening a parcel. And that is the same for our children in Malawi. You will find that one of our gifts is to give a Christmas present to one of our older children.
At our foster homes the children usually wear second hand clothes bought from the markets, but at Christmas we want to give them the once-a-year treat of shopping for a new outfit and toy that they can choose themselves. Shopping for Sunday best is a great occasion. The boys often try on colourful jeans, and the girls love sparkly dresses which they will wear all through the year. This gift is called Make a Child’s Christmas and it really does!
A gift from Malawi
We see some beautiful bags and fabric products made in Malawi. And this year we are bringing you a real treat with the option of buying a genuine Malawian gift from the small selection that we have. You can find small bags and aprons available on our website as cosmetic bags, elephant bags and pencil cases. These are all handmade in Malawi at Nettie’s Sewing Project. This is a wonderful initiative just next door to our Mangochi infant home where young people learn valuable sewing skills and earn a living through tailoring.
Do check out our online shop you can be sure that your gift will be helping someone in Malawi too.
