From just £25 a month, you can help give a child access to life-changing nutrition, medical care, education and more.

How much is it to sponsor a child?
We ask for a minimum of £25 a month, however the actual cost of providing the necessary care to our children is much greater than this. In some instances, we may allocate more than one sponsor to a child in order to cover these costs. If you are able and would like to give more than £25 a month, you will have the option to do this when you sign up.
What will my donations cover?
Monthly contributions of £25-30 will help to provide essentials such as formula, food and medicines to help your sponsor child survive their early years.
£40 - £50 per month will provide the essentials above, as well as additional support such as school supplies and farming inputs for the family - helping them thrive over the longer term.
Gifts over £50 per month will cover all of the above plus regular monitoring and tailored support for the child's guardian(s).
Can I choose my sponsored child?
We do not operate a 'choose your child' sponsorship model. However, if you have a special request please do get in touch and we can look at individual cases.
What happens when I sign up to sponsor a child?
A member of our team will soon be in touch with you to send you your sponsor child's profile and answer any questions you may have.
You will be sent personalised updates, including a recent photo of your sponsor child, 3 times a year.
Can I send a gift or letter to my sponsored child?
Your regular support is the most valuable gift you can give, however if you would like to send an additional gift we recommend you make a separate donation and our staff in Malawi will use that to choose and deliver a suitable item for your child.
We do not encourage physical gifts to be sent to Malawi, as post is often extremely delayed or fails to reach its destination altogether.
Being a small charity, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to translate letters into the child's local language.
Can I visit my sponsor child?
If you are planning a trip to Malawi and would like to try and connect with your sponsor child, please get in touch with us and we will link you to the team there to see if this will be possible.
How long will I sponsor my child for?
Most children require a minimum of three years of support from Open Arms, although this varies depending on each individual child and family. We will always be in touch to let you know if your child reaches a place where they can be discharged from Open Arms' care and discuss your options from there.
Can I cancel my sponsorship?
We understand circumstances can change. If for any reason you need to cancel or reduce your monthly donations, please just get in touch to let us know so we can ensure your sponsor child is allocated the support they need from elsewhere.
Sponsorship has provided a reliable source of support for twins Misheck and Loveness over the past few years, allowing us to help them survive their infancy, grow into happy, healthy toddlers and now grow up safe and supported in a loving family home.
