Month after month, babies are referred to Open Arms in urgent need of support – often severely malnourished or without the food, healthcare and essentials they need to survive and grow.
We provide support that enables vulnerable children to survive their early years and remain safely within their families, rather than being separated from them. But the need is always greater than the resources available.

Shortly after she was born, Elizabeth was taken in by her young aunt and uncle, who were already caring for two children of their own in extreme poverty.
They desperately wanted to care for her, but couldn't afford the infant formula she needed. With no other option, they were feeding her raw, unpasteurised cow's milk – leaving her underweight, malnourished and at risk of serious illness.
Thanks to our global community of supporters, Open Arms was able to step in with the care and practical support Elizabeth needed, while helping her remain safely at home with her family.
That fragile baby is now a healthy, happy toddler, who is loved by her family and growing stronger every day.
