Ready, steady, go… our 2018 challenge events places are available now!
We’ve all talked about how we’d like to do more, support charities, get fit and do something different this year. Well now’s your chance!
Your 2018 charity challenge places
We have just released our charity challenge places and this year we have places for you in;
July 15th Virgin Sport British 10k – a great road race through the iconic London sites!
July 29th Prudential Ride London – a 100 cycle mile course, made famous at the 2012 Olympic Games, with a spectacular finish on the Mall
9th September Simply Health Great North Run –the worlds greatest half marathon
You will find several places in each event so you can join by yourself or with a bigger team.
These challenges provide a great way to test yourself while raising much needed funds for the children of Open Arms. Your place is free, all we ask is that charity place participants commit to fundraising a minimum target of £250 for running challenges and £350 for Ride London but generally find people raise much more without even realising it! By taking part you will be giving orphans in Malawi the chance to grow up within a loving family environment and the security of a home.
“Just contact everyone you’ve ever known, through school, college, work, clubs, courses, social contacts… write a brief description of what you’re doing and why providing a link to your donation page. Often it’s the people you least expect, or those you’ve not spoken to in years who will step forwards to sponsor you, and people are normally especially keen to do something to support smaller charities.” - Serena Jones, British 10K participant 2016
Can’t decide if it is for you yet?
Here are just some of the reasons that other people have taken part;
Open to all – the events we have places in have been chosen because with some training and plenty of enthusiasm anyone of reasonable fitness can take part.
Supporting Open Arms – as a small charity we rely on our supporters for all that we do. Every single person makes a difference to what we can achieve. By taking part with us you will be making a tangible difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
Meeting new people – through your training and the support that you will receive from us you will meet and get to know new people that will inspire and support you all the way!
Something to focus on – how often do you set yourself a goal and stick to it? Now is your chance to commit to something and help others. Get involved. Declare it to the world. We’d love to have you on our team!
The thrill of achieving something, as well as the spectacular atmosphere of the event the achievement will stay with you for a long time, and the money you raise will transform the lives of children in Malawi.
Without our supporters we can’t do what we do, so whether you want to take part in an event that we have places in or raise money through a different one, challenge events are a fantastic way to do it.
