At Open Arms Malawi, we are incredibly grateful for the growing relationship we share with Rotary Clubs across the UK. Rotary’s commitment to service, community, and sustainable change closely aligns with our own mission to support vulnerable families and children in Malawi, and together we are creating a powerful impact.
Over the past year, members of the Open Arms Malawi team have had the privilege of visiting several Rotary Clubs to give talks about our work on the ground. These visits have been a wonderful opportunity to share real stories from Malawi, explain how our programmes operate, and highlight the long-term difference Rotary support can make for families living in extreme poverty.
We have been deeply encouraged by the interest, engagement, and generosity shown by Rotary members. A special thank you goes to Stokesley Rotary Club, who chose Open Arms Malawi as their Charity of the Year, providing both financial support and ongoing encouragement. We are also extremely grateful to Wakefield Rotary Club, Knaresborough Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Leeds, who have recently made generous donations to support our programmes. In addition, Rotary Adventurers are actively fundraising for us, demonstrating Rotary’s hands-on commitment to service above self. Their next event will be a charity cafe at St Peter's Church, Harrogate on 31st January.

In October last year, we were delighted to attend a District Rotary Conference, in Scarborough, where we made some fantastic new connections. The conference was a valuable opportunity to meet Rotarians from across the district, share our vision, and explore future partnerships. The enthusiasm for global projects and sustainable development was inspiring, and we are excited about where these conversations may lead.
The work of Open Arms Malawi closely aligns with Rotary’s seven areas of focus, particularly in supporting maternal and child health, education, and community economic development.

Our partnership with Rotary Clubs is about more than funding; it is about shared values and a commitment to lasting change. We are deeply thankful to every Rotary Club that has welcomed us, supported us, and walked alongside us in our mission.
Together, Open Arms Malawi and Rotary are helping families not just survive, but build healthier, more hopeful futures.
