We won’t stop until orphaned and abandoned babies in Malawi are safe and healthy

We want to hear from you!

We want to launch our own virtual fundraising event and we want to do it in partnership with you, our supporters. Whether it’s running, cooking, crafting or hosting a virtual event, let us know what kind of challenge you’d like to see.

Our survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete and will help steer us in the right direction as we plan this brand new event.

We know that our supporters are our greatest allies. Thanks to you, 90 orphaned and abandoned children in Malawi have a home until they can return to their communities and 800 children have been supported in their home villages – and that’s just what we’ve achieved in 2020 so far!

But as we all know, 2020 presents a set of unique and unprecedented challenges. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of major fundraising events, Open Arms Malawi is facing a 45% drop in income this year.

So – we need your help! You’ve already done so much to ensure those 90 orphaned children have a home this year, but we won’t give up until every child in Malawi is safe and healthy. Taking on a fundraising challenge is a fantastic way to raise funds for charity, raise awareness among your friends and family and try something new.

Here’s a couple of ideas of how you can get involved.

Take on the Virtual Great North Run

The organisers of the Great North Run have launched their virtual running campaign to give runners the experience of the event, without the risk. Join supporters around the UK on 13th September and run 13.1 miles in aid of Open Arms Malawi. We’ll be here to support you every step of the way with fundraising tips.

Make a MEAL of it!

Throughout November, we would like to invite you to host a meal for friends or family in aid of Open Arms Malawi. Simply invite people to your event - socially distanced or virtual - collect a small donation (the cost of a takeaway or a meal out) and donate the proceeds. You can be as creative as you like and funds will help provide meals in Malawi.

Fundraise in your own way

Are you an expert at knitting, a champion cyclist, or an avid carnivore who wants to give veganism a go? Maybe you just want to try something new and get fit at the same time.

Taking on a challenge of your choice, in your own time, is a great way to get involved and raise funds your way. We’ll be here to support you at every step.
