Welcome Prisca and Frascisca Malidadi

We were delighted to welcome Twins Prisca and Frascisca Malidadi at Open Arms on 23rd January 2015. The one year old twins arrived with their Aunt and a Social Welfare Officer malnourished and underweight.

Welcome Prisca and Frascisca Malidadi

Prisca was just 5.3kgs and Frascisca 7 kgs. Their Aunt, who was caring for 14 children cried with relief when she heard that we could take on the care of the twins. The twins’ mother passed away in December 2014.

The girls adjusted easily to life at Open Arms and didn’t cry much, but love to be carried and held and will protest when it’s time to sit down again! They already knew how to feed themselves, and refused assistance!

One month later Prisca is catching up with her sister and weighs 6.3 kg, while Frascisca is 7.5 kg. We look forward to assisting their full recovery, and thank you for helping us to make this possible.

Children like Prisca and Frascisca, arriving with us from the local hospitals or via the Social Welfare Department are often severely malnourished. A gift of just £4 will enable us to buy a jar of Sibusiso, a peanut-based protein supplement which has provided the twins with a desperately needed boost of nutrients and helped them to get back on track.

Your donation will help children in Malawi grow up healthy with the love of a family
