Why volunteer with us?

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Open Arms and we believe you should be happy and fulfilled in your roles.  We therefore provide as much support as you need including a full induction and training, as well as the chance to connect with other volunteers.  

We will do as much as we can to make sure that you have a wonderful experience with Open Arms Malawi.

When and where?

Our volunteers usually give between 2 to 4 hours per week or every other week. More hours may be required at certain times, but support is always available and we aim to be as flexible as possible. 

Help is always needed in our small office in Harrogate, but if you live outside the area there are many things that can be done from a distance.

What will you do?

We are always looking for help with the following roles;

• Administration - this includes database management, housekeeping, donation management and Gift Aid processing, which protects our donors and our income. 
• Fundraising - from speaking with donors and fundraisers to organising activities to raise vital funds there is always a lot to get involved in
• Public relations - if you love public speaking we have many opportunities for you to speak at schools and community groups to promote our work in Malawi and raise awareness.
• Events - this could include researching and planning events with a member of our team or you could event put on your own event for Open Arms.
• Marketing - if you have good writing skills or digital marketing skills we would love to hear from you.

What will you gain?
