Improving early learning education in communities

Namalo and Kumanda Nursery Schools, situated in rural areas outside the city of Blantyre, have been busy as we approach the festive season. As children attending the nurseries have never been to school before, they aren’t quite used to rules and staff are working hard to establish some routines.

Support for families affected by Cyclone Idai

Thanks to your help we have raised over £18,000. This has provided extra support to the families on our outreach programme who have taken in an additional child from Open Arms.

Back to school…

The opening of the first nursery school in Mchocholo village brought the whole community together to celebrate! This milestone would not have been possible without our corporate partners and volunteers so we send out a huge thank you to everyone that has contributed.

Meet Victor and Vallela

Twins, Victor and Vallela, arrived at Open Arms back in 2005 after being orphaned. Suffering complications following childbirth, their mother sadly died and afterwards, their father was nowhere to be found.
